About fioel

Amsterdam, October 2026

fioel is a design studio in Amsterdam, founded by Zaid Rais.

Zaid grew up in Switzerland, ten years in Geneva and seven in Lucerne, and now works from Amsterdam.

Away from the desk he travels, and wherever he goes he looks for buildings and rooms worth seeing: a hotel lobby, a chapel, a stair in a house someone lives in. This winter he works from Thailand for a few months.

We make websites for interior designers and for no one else. Choosing one field let us learn it properly: how a house is photographed, how a studio talks about a project, and what a client looks up before the first call.

We design every site and write its code ourselves. No templates and no page builders, so each studio gets a site that looks like its own work and loads fast on a phone.

We also measure. In October 2026 we timed twenty leading interior studio websites on a phone and published what we found as The Index. It is where we start when we look at a studio's site.
