Questions
What interior studios ask before they commission a website, with short answers.
Price and time
How much does a website for our studio cost?
There is no price list. After a 10-minute call we give you one fixed price for the whole site, agreed before any work starts. It depends mostly on how many project pages you need and whether the site is in one language or two.
Ask us about thisWhat is the difference between The Page, The Site and The House?
The Page is one long page with three or four project stories. The Site is the full studio website: up to eight project pages, the studio, press and an enquiry form. The House holds every project in two languages, with art direction of the photographs and a journal.
Ask us about thisHow long does a new website take?
It depends on how many projects the site shows and how ready your photographs and notes are. You get the timeline together with the fixed price after the first call, so you know both before any work starts.
Ask us about thisHow much of our time will it take?
Very little. You send your photographs, a few notes on each project (the place, the year, the scope, the photographer) and your press. We write the pages, put the projects in order with you and show you one complete design to approve. Your part is the notes and the approval.
Ask us about thisWords and photographs
Do you write the words, or do we?
We do. Every project page is written from your notes and from what you have already published, and nothing is made up. You read every word in the design before you approve it.
Ask us about thisDo we need new photography?
Usually not. We build from the photographs you have and choose the order with you. If a project has no good photographs yet, we help you brief a photographer, and with The House we art direct the shoot.
Ask us about thisHow are our photographers credited?
By name, on every project page, next to the place, the year and the scope. We publish only the images your licence with the photographer covers, so we ask for those terms before the build starts.
Ask us about thisPrivate homes
How do we keep private homes private?
Private homes are named by town, street or kind of house, never by the client. Nothing on the page shows the address or anything else that locates the house. Clients are named only when the project is a public place, such as a hotel or a shop.
Ask us about thisCan a project be shown to some people and not to everyone?
Yes. A project can live on an unlisted page: it is not in the project index, search engines do not show it, and you send the link only to the people you choose. That suits a home whose owners do not want it public.
Ask us about thisClients and enquiries
Will the site bring us the right clients?
It helps by being clear. Each project states its place, scope and size, so a visitor can see whether you take work like theirs. The enquiry form asks where the project is, what kind it is, roughly how big and when, so you know who is writing before you reply.
Ask us about thisShould our enquiry form ask for a budget?
That is your choice. Most studios at the top never ask for a budget on the page. Others add an optional range with a choice to discuss it in person. We set the form up the way you already talk about money with clients.
Ask us about thisMost of our work comes through referrals. Why does the website matter?
Because a referral looks you up before they write. A recommendation brings them to your site, and the site decides whether they get in touch. When it is slow, thin or out of date, the recommendation loses weight. The same goes for press readers and introductions from architects.
Ask us about thisIs Instagram not enough?
Instagram is where many people first see your work. Your site is where they see the whole project at full size, in your order, with its facts. It is also what Google and AI assistants read, and a feed of square pictures gives them nothing to quote.

Will clients find us on Google?
They find a studio whose pages say clearly what it does and where. Every project page states its place, year and scope in words, every page has one title and one heading, and a studio that receives clients gets a Google Business Profile. No one can honestly promise a position.
Ask us about thisWill ChatGPT recommend our studio?
AI assistants name studios they can read and that others write about. Each page answers its question in its first sentences, with the facts in plain text. On the Growth plan we check every week what the assistants say about your studio. No one can honestly promise a mention.
Ask us about thisThe site
Will our projects look right on a phone?
Yes. Each photograph fills the width of the phone and is served sharp, at the size the screen needs, in a format that weighs little. Google counts a page as good when the main image appears within 2.5 seconds; we build to under two.
Ask us about thisShould we stay on Squarespace?
Stay if you are new and have a few finished projects; spend on photography first. Move once your work is published and clients choose you for your taste. A site built by hand can look like your rooms, stay fast with large photographs and show projects in your order.
Ask us about thisWho owns the website?
You do. We build every site by hand in code, with no rented template underneath, and it runs on your own domain. The monthly plan looks after the site; the site itself stays yours.
Ask us about thisWhat happens to our current site and its links?
The new site goes live on your existing domain, and every old address is redirected to its new page. Links in press articles, emails and Google results keep working and land on the right project, and the value those pages have built carries over.
Ask us about thisCan we add new projects ourselves?
On Care you do not need to: you send us the photographs and notes, and we add the project in the same standard as the rest of the site, with its facts, credits and descriptions in place.
Ask us about thisCan the site be in two languages?
Yes. Two languages are part of The House. Each page is paired with its translation, so search engines send every visitor to the right one. A second language is settled in the scope and the fixed price before any work starts.
Ask us about thisCan the site show our furniture or editions?
Yes. If you make your own pieces, a collection can sit inside the site in the same type and photography, and each project page can link to the pieces used in its rooms.
Ask us about thisHow do we show our press?
On a press page that works as an archive: each feature with the publication, the date, a link or a scan, and the project it covers. Each project page can also list its own press.

What happens after launch?
Every site comes with a monthly plan. Care covers hosting, updates, your new projects added, basic SEO and a monthly speed check. Growth is Care plus your Google Business Profile and listings, three journal pieces a month and a weekly check of what AI assistants say about your studio.
Ask us about thisCan we see work you have done?
Sauvel is a concept project by fioel: an invented interior architecture studio in Amsterdam, built as a complete website with real, credited photographs. We show client sites only when the client agrees.
Ask us about thisDo you work with studios outside the Netherlands?
Yes. We are based in Amsterdam and work with interior studios worldwide, in English.
Ask us about thisHow does it start?
With a 10-minute call. You show us your current site and the projects you are proudest of. After the call you get one fixed price for the whole site, and nothing starts until you agree to it.
