Web design for interior designers.

A website built around your projects: how each house is shown and how the right client gets in touch. We do only this, by hand, and look after it every month.

A concept for an interior studio

The Sauvel homepage: two photographs of an oak-panelled apartment above the sea, a hall with an oval mirror and a bedroom, on a bone ground.

Interior architecture, Amsterdam

Sauvel

The site of an interior architecture studio in Amsterdam that walks each house room by room, with a drawn plan beside it.

What does a website for an interior designer need?

Project pages first
A client decides on the projects. Everything else on the site supports them.
More
One whole room on the first screen
Your room, with your name and what you do set on it. Your latest project follows, then a few chosen others, never the whole archive.
Few words in view
At most two short sentences on a screen, so the photographs stay the largest thing.
A studio page, press and a way to enquire
A journal if you want to write, and a collection if you make your own pieces.

What does a project page show?

A cover and one line
The whole room, the name of the house and one sentence about the idea.
More
A ledger
The place, the year, the size, the scope and the photographer's name, in plain words a search engine can read.
The rooms in walking order
With details of material and light, and the plan when you have one.
Private homes stay private
They are named by town, street or kind of house, never by the client, and nothing on the page locates the house.

Squarespace or a custom site?

You are starting out, with a few finished projects
Squarespace is enough. Spend the money on a good photographer instead.
More
You have a body of work and a template that no longer fits
A template set up well by a designer can carry you for a few more years.
Your clients choose you for your taste, and the work is high-end
A custom site can look like your rooms, stay fast with large photographs and show every project in the order you choose.

How fast should it be on a phone?

Under two seconds to the first room
Google counts a page as good under 2.5 seconds; we build to two.
More
Sharp photographs that weigh little
Every photograph is served in a modern format at the size each screen needs.
Nothing over the work
No cookie wall or newsletter pop-up covers the first screen on a phone.

Will Google and ChatGPT find the studio?

Every page answers its question first
In plain text, in its opening sentences, because that is the part search engines and AI assistants quote.
More
Every project states its facts
The place, the year and the scope, written out, not only in the photographs.
A Google Business Profile
We set it up for studios that receive clients at an address. More on search and AI answers.

What does it cost?

One fixed price for the whole site
Agreed after a 10-minute call, before any work starts. It depends mostly on how many project pages you need and whether the site is in one language or two.
More
The Page
One long page for a smaller studio, with three or four project stories.
The Site
The full studio website: a project index, up to eight project pages, the studio, press and an enquiry form.
The House
Every project, two languages, art direction of the photographs and a journal.

What happens after launch?

Care
Hosting, updates, your new projects added, and a monthly check that the site is still fast.
More
Growth
Everything in Care, plus your Google Business Profile and other listings, three journal pieces a month and a weekly check of what AI assistants say about your studio.

Who is this for?

High-end, modern interior design studios and interior architects, usually owner-run, with finished projects and a website that shows less than the work deserves. We work with studios worldwide, in English. If you want a template to fill in yourself, a good template will serve you better.

Questions studios ask

How much of our time will a new website take?

Very little. You send your photographs, a few notes on each project and your press. We write the pages, put the projects in order with you and show you one complete design to approve.

Do we need new photography?

Usually not. We build from the photographs you have and choose the order with you. If a project has no good photographs yet, we help you brief a photographer.

Can we show a project only to the people we choose?

Yes. A project can live on an unlisted page: it is not in the project index, search engines do not show it, and you send the link only to the people you choose. That suits a home whose owners do not want it public.

Will the site bring us the right enquiries?

It helps by being clear. Each project states its place, scope and size, and the enquiry form asks where, what kind of project, roughly how big and when, so you know who is writing before you reply.

Who owns the site?

You do. We build every site by hand in code, with no rented template underneath, on your own domain. Every old address is redirected to its new page.

How long does it take?

It depends on how many projects the site shows and how ready the photographs and notes are. You get the timeline together with the fixed price, after the first call.

Can the site show our furniture or objects?

Yes. If you make your own pieces, a collection can sit inside the site in the same type and photography, and each project page can link to the pieces used in it.
